Holcim Foundation
The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction promotes sustainability in the construction industry by supporting innovative solutions worldwide. To achieve this goal, the Foundation conducts an international sustainable construction competition (Holcim Awards); an academic symposium (Holcim Forum); provides financial support for research and construction projects (Seed Funding); and promotes collaboration through publications and exhibitions.

Holcim Awards
The USD 2 million Holcim Awards competition showcases approaches to improving the sustainability of the built environment from around the globe. More than 3000 projects from 120 countries entered the first Holcim Awards competition. International juries led by five of the worlds leading technical universities selected 46 prize-winning projects.
The second Holcim Awards competition closed for entries on February 29, 2008. At the close of entries, 4774 submissions from authors in 90 countries were registered for sustainable construction projects and visions.

Holcim Forum
The Foundation also conducts symposiums on sustainable construction to encourage discussion and debate on innovation and progress. The second Holcim Forum was held in April 2007 in Shanghai, China on the theme of "Urban_Trans_Formation – challenging the 21st Century".
